Long range forward-backward rapiditiy correlations in proton-proton collisions at LHC
We argue that string percolation is in the origin of i) an approximately flat rapidity distribution and of ii) an approximately constant forward-backward correlation parameter b over a substantial fraction of the available rapidity. Predictions are given for pp collisions at LHC, √ s = 14TeV and √ s = 5.5TeV.
متن کاملLong-range multiplicity correlations in proton-proton collisions
The forward-backward long-range multiplicity correlations in proton-proton collisions are investigated in the model with two independent sources of particles: one leftand one right-moving wounded nucleon. A good agreement with the UA5 collaboration proton-antiproton data at the c.m. energy of 200 GeV is observed. For comparison the model with only one source of particles is also discussed. PACS...
متن کامل1 Ja n 20 05 Unintegrated CCFM parton distributions and pion production in proton - proton collisions at high energies
Inclusive cross sections for pion production in proton-proton collisions are calculated for the first time based on unintegrated parton (gluon, quark, antiquark) distributions (uPDF). We use Kwieci´nski uPDF's and phenomenological fragmentation functions from the literature. In addition to the gg → g diagram used recently for applications at RHIC we include also gq → q and qg → q diagrams. We f...
متن کاملGeneralized Z - Scaling in Proton - Proton Collisions at High Energies
New generalization of z-scaling in inclusive particle production is proposed. The scaling variable z is fractal measure which depends on kinematical characteristics of the underlying sub-process expressed in terms of the momentum fractions x 1 and x 2 of the incoming protons. In the generalized approach, the x 1 and x 2 are functions of the momentum fractions y a and y b of the scattered and re...
متن کاملDilepton production in proton-proton collisions at BEVALAC energies
The dilepton production in elementary pp → eeX reactions at BEVALAC energies Tlab = 1 ÷ 5 GeV is investigated. The calculations include direct ee decays of the vector mesons ρ, ω, and φ, Dalitz decays of the π, η-, ρ-, ω-, and φ-mesons, and of the baryon resonances ∆(1232), N(1520), . . . . The subthreshold vector meson production cross sections in pp collisions are treated in a way sufficient ...
